The team

What we bring to the table:

Co-Owner, Art Schmidt

The Schmidt family has owned & operated the Farmhouse and its surrounding properties for over 20 years.  In fact, the land has been in his family for generations.  Art’s passion for the environment runs deep.  He implements all in-house recycling & composting programs, and is an activist for local farmers & community outreach.

Co-Owner, Michelle Quier

Co-owner of Granny Schmidt’s Bakery and most recently the Farmhouse Restaurant, Michelle has worked side by side with the Schmidt family for over seven years.  With backgrounds in business management, accounting & marketing, Michelle is the detail-oriented, organized maestro of the businesses.  Michelle is thrilled to be part of the team!

Chef, Javan Small

Born in Misawa, Japan, Javan’s love of food began at an early age when he started his restaurant career in the 10th grade.  Javan has trained under world-renowned chefs in both the United States and in Europe.  Javan graduated from Johnson & Wales University, Magna Cum Laude, with degrees in Culinary Arts and Food Service Entrepreneurship, and most notably worked under Chef Lea Linster at her Michelin-rated restaurant in Luxembourg.  Chef Javan Small has perfected his craft over the years, favoring European styles and techniques, and embracing the farm to table movement.

Banquet Sales & Coordinator, Samantha Beedle

Samantha, or Sam, is a Lehigh Valley native who’s passion for excellence brought her to The Farmhouse in December of 2010 for dinner, a week later she was the full time bartender. Now you can find her coordinating all of the events and banquets for this charming venue. Sam has spent the last thirteen years gaining knowledge, experience and expertise of the service industry in all of its aspects. She received her BFA from Montclair State University in Theatre Preformance and heads an events group based out of Bethlehem, ‘The Beedle & The Wrenn’, who bring you creative fun events for the community to get involved in. Samantha is thrilled to have found such a wonderful team and beautiful location to have found her niche in. “It’s a pleasure to put into something that you get so much from”.
